In RedeApp, there are two types of roles or accounts - Members and Guests.
--------
MEMBERS
Members of a RedeApp network are most often company employees, staff, team members, representatives or other designations that your organization deems 'employees.' Members can also be club, gym, sports team, or association members. There is plenty of flexibility for how you can use the Members role in your network. A word association that you might use for Members is 'internal.'
GUESTS
Guests of a RedeApp network are often contractors, part-time workers, volunteers, or friends and family of network Members. A word association that you might use for Guests is 'external.'
--------
NETWORK VS COMMUNITY DIRECTORY SETTINGS
The most important factor when considering if a person should be a Member or Guest in your RedeApp network is the Directory permissions the person will have.
- Members have full access to your NETWORK Directory. In other words, Members can send DMs, create Chats or Teams messages with all other Members in your network.
- Guests - on the other hand - do not have access to the entire network directory. They can send DMs, create Chats or Teams messages based on the settings for the COMMUNITIES they can access.
The reason that each unique RedeApp Community has a Directory is that not every communication needs to be a community-wide post. Sometimes, DMs or Chats are a better way to engage with a smaller group of people from within the Community.
Below is how you can configure a Community's Directory permissions for Guests. Note: All the settings on a Community - including Guest Settings - can be edited or changed after the Community is created.
